When I first started yoga, I was resistant to the breath work. I realize now that I didn't fully understand what yoga breathing was about. When a yoga teacher said to breath forcefully or rapidly, I checked out. I actually "faked the breathing". It didn't feel natural or good.
After researching the Ancient yoga text and what experts had to say about proper breathing techniques I realized a few things I wanted to share with others:
1. Make your breath gentle and light
2. Breath in and out through the nose
3. relax the jaw
4. Use Umbrella Breathing (see Below)
